Not at all. Our Journaling Foundations course is specifically designed for complete beginners and people returning to writing after a break. We start with the basics and build from there, so you’ll never feel lost or behind.
Most people find 10–15 minutes works well to start. The key isn’t length—it’s consistency. We help you build a sustainable habit that fits into your actual life, not some idealised version of it. Even five minutes of honest reflection beats an hour of forcing yourself to write.
Our Journaling Foundations course (6 weeks) teaches core techniques and gets you writing regularly. Writing for Insight (8 weeks) digs deeper—using prompts and reflection to uncover patterns in your thinking and clarify what matters to you. Writing Through Change is a 5-week focused program for people navigating major life transitions. Choose based on where you are right now.
Yes. Writing is a practical container for processing emotions and making sense of what’s happening. We’ve designed our courses to help you move through difficulty with clarity rather than just sitting in the pain. That said, if you’re in crisis, please reach out to professional support as well.
We offer both formats. Online courses let you work at your own pace from anywhere, while in-person workshops in Waterford create community and offer hands-on guidance. Get in touch to find out which format suits you best right now.
There’s no “right” way. Journaling isn’t about perfect grammar or clever insights—it’s about honest reflection. If you’re showing up regularly and noticing something about yourself, you’re doing it right. We focus on building awareness, not hitting a target.
